  • Go Ahead, Tax Me

    By kahall | June 25, 2009

So I already cancelled some of my Dish Network channels to make up for the massive, unfair, rediculous tax increase on my smokes. If the cap and trade legislation (cap and tax) which may get a full vote in the house as early as tomorrow happens to become law I will need to find something else to get rid of. Every time they tax me, I will get rid of a luxery item that I am sure is taxed already which of course means less taxes paid by me. See, it just doesn’t work.

National Healthcare. Shall we debate it? Not so much!

    By kahall | May 7, 2009

I do not like paying for medical insurance either. But letting the feds take control of health care is insane and arguing with the insane is futile.

    5) Class warfare alert! People who’ve worked their way up to executive positions may have some disposable income. And of that disposable income — which they clearly haven’t earned, the sentiment seems to be — some might be spent on what our progressive friend believes are frivolous personal grooming measures. When people are starving, how dare someone else get their nails professionally trimmed — and from a high end salon, no less?

Climate Alarmist Joe Romm: Al Gore Tool

    By kahall | April 7, 2009

I want to get this out of the way right off the bat. Joe Romm is unquotable and uncitable. Why? Because I said so. But the fact is for a journalist, quoting or citing him as a source is the swiftest way to smear your own reputation. Again, because I said so. Who am I? No one important. I just know bull shit when I see it and I only took a few college courses.

Now if you want a good laugh check out the following 2 video clips courtesy of Roll Call where Marc Morano, former Communications Director for the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee and the executive editor and chief correspondent of ClimateDepot.com mops the floor with the cry baby Joe Romm.
Key part of the first video starts at the 3:45 mark.

All he has is: “I did not interrupt you” and “This guy, Marc just makes stuff up” or something to that affect. I am not going back to watch the video again to get the 2nd quote exactly right, not now, my stomach still hurts from laughing. Maybe after I recover.
Here is the 2nd part of the floor mopping.

Oh and a shout out to Newbusters who brought this hilarity to my attention.

Obama’s 1st Tax Increase On The Poor

    By kahall | February 4, 2009

I thought that there would be no new taxes on anyone who makes under $250,000 or was it $150,000 per year. Either way, Obama still lied. Federal excise tax on a pack of cigarettes is now set to go to a disgusting $1.01 per pack on April 1st 2009. It’s for the children you know.
Obama signs kids’ health insurance bill

SCHIP was created more than a decade ago to help children in families with incomes too high to qualify for Medicaid but too low to afford private coverage.

Federal money for the program was set to expire March 31, barring action by Congress. To cover the increase in spending, the bill would boost the federal excise tax on a pack of cigarettes by 62 cents, to $1.01 a pack.

Opponents of the bill complained that the tobacco tax increase hits the poor the hardest, because they are more likely to smoke than wealthier people. Many also took exception to expanding the program and Medicaid to children of newly arrived legal immigrants.

Republicans said they supported SCHIP and providing additional money for the program. However, they argued that Democrats were taking the program beyond its original intent and were encouraging states to cover middle-class families who otherwise could get private insurance.

If you do not smoke now or you do not start soon you do not care about the health of America’s children.

This is just the beginning as noted by Michelle Malkin.
Obama gets his S-CHIP Trojan Horse, first tax hike of 2009: “The first step”

Take heed: President Obama said at the signing that this is just the “first step.”

Which one of your freedoms is the nanny state going to tax beyond belief next?

Freedom is only for those who have the guts to defend it

    By kahall | January 30, 2009

I saw this at AoSHQ today. It might be an old story but it really gets me. Especially since I do not  own a firearm of any kind. I need to save up. Dammit!

The Right will either surrender to the Left, or crush it.

    The time is near.

Muris Varajic Debuts Guitar Idol 2009 Entry

    By kahall | January 4, 2009

I have only checked out a few of the other entries but Muris is going to be hard to beat with this entry. I’m not sure what the prizes are this year either, but he must really want them.

    YouTube Preview Image

From the Guitar Idol website regarding rules:

    Final Online Heat

    • The 120 victorious guitarists from Heats 1, 2 and 3 will battle for 12 places at the Live Final.
    • The Top 4 guitarists from the public vote shall be invited to perform at the Live Final.†
    • The Judges Top 8 choices shall be invited to perform at the Live Final.†
    • (ed) Then all prizes will be awarded, most likely to Muris Varajic.

The last one* is of course made up but it is really going to be tough for the judges. Having followed this guy for a few years now, by way of online guitar lessons that I just happen to know about..well he is just really impressive.

Here is the thread annoucement in the guitarmasterclass.net forum. Check it out.

Helen Jones-Kelley Resigns Over jTp Snooping

    By kahall | December 17, 2008

    Via Hot Air.
This is the best news I have had in a while. Finally some justice for illegally tapping into Joe The Plumbers private records. Good riddance criminal. It would have been better if she had been fired but I am thrilled.
    From the Columbus Dispatch.

Today’s action comes just hours after the Senate approved a measure cracking down on state workers who improperly conduct checks involving people’s personal information. Republicans complained that Gov. Ted Strickland, who promised to set a high ethical standard as governor, was letting her off far too lightly.

    You should go to Ted.

The administration last night fired Doug Thompson, the deputy director of child support who was scheduled to return to work Monday following a one-month suspension without pay.

Fred Williams, assistant agency director, has resigned effective Jan. 31. He recently returned to his job after a week suspension without pay.

At least someone did get fired. Yeah! Assholes!
